Vision Bike Group

"Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel...the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood."

Susan B. Anthony

This quote is accompanied by a picture of her and friends on their bicycles holding a sign that reads: Law-Abiding Women Suffragists

Vision Bike Group began in the summer of 2003 as a group for women on the south shore to get together for weekly bike rides. The group has expanded to include social events as well and many of the original core group have brought in friends who have become participants. There is no cost for membership. Rides vary between 20 and 40+ miles. We join up with the AMC Bike Groups and other local riders for rides in the summer. We usually ride late April - September or early October as weather permits.  Below are a couple of photos from one of our early rides in Cohasset.

Effective September 1, 2007 rides will not be posted on this website until further notice. Janet Brentzel [TheBrentzels@comcast.net]  will be handling e-mails regarding rides. Email Janet if you would like to be included in her list to receive details of upcoming rides.

September 2, 2007 we celebrated Roz Reilly's birthday at Maureen's house after the ride. We all wish Roz well in her recovery!
